Greater Portland Christian School is Hiring a Head of School Near South Portland, ME
GPCS is looking for professionally and spiritually qualified individuals who are committed and mature Christian believers, who possess a thorough understanding of the Christian worldview, and who believe they have a calling to train students from the traditional biblical perspective. GPCS faculty and staff are committed to our mission of equipping students to understand, embrace, and articulate a biblical Christian worldview from which they are able to explore and evaluate the physical and spiritual world. We use every subject area to promote curiosity, inspire scholarship, and encourage students to discover their God-given purpose. We teach students to analyze claims by using critical thinking skills rooted in biblical truth. GPCS seeks, therefore, to hire teachers and staff who are passionate about this ministry of thoroughly Christian education.
The Head of School (HoS) of GPCS is the Chief Executive Officer of the school under the authority and direction of the school’s Board of Directors. He/she also is the official spokesperson for the school and has daily interaction with faculty, students, and parents. This person has proven spiritual, moral, academic, and leadership qualities to effectively direct the mission of GPCS as it enters its second half century. The ideal candidate is a servant leader, who is a deeply caring and approachable problemsolver and strategic visionary, leading the faculty and staff as one who guides a team of peers. While relating to others with compassion and grace, the HoS must also exhibit discernment and make hard decisions when necessary to support the school’s mission.
